House committee proposes minimal FEMA reauthorization bill

Two Republican and two Democratic members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee introduced Oct. 22 a bill reauthorizing Federal Emergency Management Agency salaries and expenses through fiscal 2016.

The bill (H.R. 3300) would be the first reauthorization of FEMA, an organization that Congress never actually formally authorized before its 1979 creation via Executive Order 12127 until the 2006 passage of the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act [ . . . ]
